Courthouse Green Primary School Visits Mary in Parliament

Mary Creagh MP with students from Courthouse Green Primary School

Courthouse Green Primary School students were welcomed to Parliament today by Mary Creagh MP. The students, from Mary’s constituency, travelled to London to tour Parliament and take a look inside British politics. After their tour, Mary took them to see the Speakers procession into the House of Commons at the start of PMQs. The students particularly enjoyed seeing the Sergeant at Arms with his golden mace.

The Year 5 and 6 students were representing their school’s Parliament and eco-council. Mary asked the eco-council about their litter-picking work and explained about the work she does to protect nature in Coventry and beyond.

All the students received a letter from Mary, thanking them for their visit. Each student also took home a book to celebrate World Book Day. The students told Mary their plans to dress up for World Book Day; with costumes ranging from footballers to Hermione Granger.

For schools in Coventry East interested in organising a tour of Parliament, bookings open on the 13th of May at 10am. For more information click here: https://learning.parliament.uk/en/session-workshop/tours-and-workshops/
