Labour announce £10.9million upgrade for Caludon Centre

The Caludon Centre, University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, Walsgrave

The Caludon Centre at UHCW in Walsgrave is set to receive more than £10.9million as part of the Labour government’s £750million funding announcement for 400 hospitals, mental health units and ambulance sites across the country.

Mary Creagh MP welcomed this vital funding for the Coventry site as “another step in this Government’s mission to fix the dire state of public service infrastructure Labour inherited from the Tories”.

Tackling long-term problems such as leaky pipes, poor ventilation and electrical issues, will help to prevent thousands of cancelled operations and appointments so patients can benefit from better services and facilities across the health system. The hospital funding package was confirmed in last year’s Autumn Budget, in which an extra £26billion was secured for the NHS by the Labour Government.
