Inspiring Young Athletes at Sowe Valley Primary School

Mary visited Sowe Valley School, in Binley and Willenhall, to launch a new scheme from England Athletics and the Personal Best Foundation in partnership with Citroen to make athletics more accessible to young people. She was joined at the launch by nine-times Paralympic champion Hannah Cockcroft CBE. This project will bring free after-school athletics sessions and teacher training to a targeted network of schools in Coventry, Warwickshire and Ellesmere Port. It aims to make running, jumping and throwing accessible for young people – especially those from disadvantaged families – and encourage them to be healthy, active and have fun.
