Sky Blues in the Community: CCFC supporting inclusion, health and training for all

Mary at the CCFC ground with Dave Busst and Harvey Morgan

At the Coventry Arena Mary caught up with Dave Busst and Harvey Morgan to discuss how Sky Blues in the Community is changing the lives of people in Coventry and Warwickshire.

The special connection people have to Coventry City Football Club provides a unique and powerful way to support, influence and develop meaningful opportunities across many different communities.

Sky Blues in the Community run several projects, which include:

  • Getting girls involved in football at school

  • Setting up a Muslim Supporters Club

  • Walking football groups groups for people with Parkinsons, people recovering post-cancer

  • Promoting activities combat obesity and improve mental health in children and adults.

Their community programmes help improving health and wellbeing, encourage involvement from under-represented and deprived groups, reduce involvement in crime and expand education and training opportunities in the Coventry.

If you would like to find out more about what they do, or get more active and involved yourself, go to their website.

Update: Dave Busst has been awarded a special Lifetime Achievement Award from the PFA! (see below)

Huge congratulations to him, and many thanks for his dedication to CCFC and his work with Sky Blues in the Community.
