Rubber hits the road on Walsgrave Junction development
A46 Coventry Junctions (Walsgrave)
The application to redesign a major junction in Coventry has been approved today.
The Walsgrave junction will be redesigned with a much smoother system envisioned.
Currently, the junction has a roundabout with three entries and exits. It causes congestion for traffic going both ways and creates bottlenecks that frustrate motorists.
Current plans for the redesign would see a flyover installed, allowing traffic to flow more freely, and two new roundabouts to further ease congestion.
Mary Creagh MP welcomed the redesign, and said “Whilst out speaking to people in Coventry, I often hear about how this junction is problematic for commuters. I’m glad that permission to redesign has been granted after two years.
