Minister Creagh Speaks at Parliamentary Repair Cafe

Mary Creagh speech at the Parliamentary Repair Cafe

Minister Creagh spoke at a Parliamentary Repair Café event organised by The Restart Project and Back Market. The event was attended by over 100 repair café representatives from across the UK, who offered live repairs for attendees.

Repair cafés invite people to bring their broken items, from kitchen essentials like toasters and kettles to computers and many more items to be repaired by a team of skilled volunteers. These café’s are an example of the circular economy, saving money and resources by repairing, refurbishing, reusing and recycling products. Click here to find your local repair café.

As the Minister for the Circular Economy, Mary Creagh is leading delivering a better use of our resources as a nation. Defra’s Circular Economy Growth Plan, set to be released this spring, will set out how government will deliver a more circular and prosperous economy. It will identify major opportunities across sectors including transport, construction and electronics.
