Mary Creagh MP visits Chelsea Flower Show

Minister Creagh at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Minister for Nature, Mary Creagh, attended the Chelsea Flower Show, run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to celebrate exceptional plants, flowers and gardening.

The Chelsea Flower Show is held every year in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, starting in 1912. It is the RHS’s largest fundraiser with over 150,000 visitors each year. This year's show was focused on showcasing how plants are fundamental to fighting climate change and protecting biodiversity.

This Labour Government is taking major action to protect and restore nature, wildlife and biodiversity across the UK. Minister Creagh has led efforts to reintroduce beavers, create three new national forests, encourage a circular economy and crack down on waste polluting our landscape.

Government plans like the Environmental Improvement Plan and the Land Use Framework will ensure cleaner air and water, restore the natural environment, revive iconic landscapes, generate clean energy and foster a thriving green economy. These actions will help protect 30% of our land for nature by 2030, create 350,000 football pitches worth of new wildlife-rich habitat.
