Mary Creagh MP at COP30
Between 15th and 21st of November, Mary Creagh MP, is attending COP30* at Belem in Brazil, representing the UK as Minister for Nature. 197 countries will meet in the Amazon rainforest to confront a shared issue - the climate and nature crisis.
COP30 is focused on three main goals: securing clean energy, protecting nature, and safeguarding our future.
Countries hope to forge a path to reducing emissions, aimed at keeping global temperature rises below 1.5 degrees, accelerate the global transition to clean energy, and reverse the shocking global loss of nature.
As Minister for Nature, Mary Creagh MP will ensure that nature is at the centre of the debate on climate change, as these issues cannot be tackled in isolation.
Minister Creagh will make announcements on behalf of the UK Government on climate and nature commitments and collaborative partnerships with other nations.
You can follow these on video as they happen, or catch up on previous speeches at the UK COP Pavillion stream.
