Mary Creagh MP with the owner of Chef X Cafe in Foleshill

Mary Creagh MP met the staff and owner of Chef X Café on Stoney Stanton Road in Foleshill to congratulate them on being nominated as one of three national finalists for the Social Impact Award in the 2025 Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year awards.

As well as making delicious food, the cafe runs a range of initiatives including a training program for local youth in collaboration with Rising Stars Youth group.

They regularly open their kitchen to young people from the area, offering certified training in food hygiene and preparation, giving them both practical skills and a head start into hospitality careers.

Their regular “Chai and Chat” mornings, provides a safe, non-judgmental space where people from all walks of life can sit down over a warm cup of tea and talk openly about their mental health challenges.

During Ramadan, they organised a grand community Iftar in collaboration with Coventry City Football Club and the Rising Stars Youth Group. Over 400 people attended, many of whom said it was the most inclusive and meaningful community event they had experienced.

The winners of the Uber Easts competition will be announced on 23rd September. Fingers Crossed for Chef X Cafe.
