Mayor’s Growth Plan to Bring Jobs and Investment to Coventry

Mary Creagh MP with West Midlands Combined Authority Mayor Richard Parker and Business Leaders at MTC in Ansty Park

Mary Creagh MP convened a group of Coventry based business leaders from across different sectors, vital to jobs and investment in the city, who met Richard Parker, Labour Mayor of the West Midlands, to discuss his newly launched Growth Plan for the Region.

They welcomed the government’s long term economic strategy on trade and investment, and explored how this would affect their business plans, security and growth over the next decade.

Mayor Richard Parker said, “To grow our economy, we need to back the brilliant businesses in Coventry that help power it. There’s so much talent and ambition in this city, and my Growth Plan will underpin the bold, collective action that we need to unlock this potential.”

The Chair of Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, Corin Crane attended the event and welcomed the initiatives:

“I look at the MTC, our great universities, the likes of HORIBA MIRA, our incredible mix of businesses, our visitor attractions and our fantastic location, and I know we have everything we need to make us fit for the economy of the future. This kind of direct engagement is absolutely vital for business. I thank Richard and Mary for bringing this event to the area.”
