Up to 9,550 children in Coventry East to get free school meals from September

Up to 9,550 children in Coventry East will receive free school meals from September. Labour’s Plan for Change is breaking down barriers to opportunity by supporting households on Universal Credit. We're helping children achieve at school and putting nearly £500 back in parents’ pockets.

For too long child poverty has been a stain on this country. It is the moral mission of this Labour government to end it so that for every child, where you’re from doesn’t determine where you end up in life.

We’re beginning to do that through opening free breakfast clubs in every primary school, cutting the cost of school uniforms and ensuring that over half a million more children able to benefit from a free school meals.

Labour believes that children growing up in our country deserve the best start in life – nothing less, and we want to deliver excellence everywhere, for every child. By investing in more support for disadvantaged children, we are investing in their futures, setting them up to learn and do they very best in school.
