Enjoy Fireworks Displays as Kind Neighbours

In the coming months there will be lots of firework celebrations - Diwali, Bonfire Night, Halloween, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Lunar New Year and more. These are wonderful times of celebration for families and communities as the nights draw in.

Nobody wants to spoil the fun, but we can think with kindness to protect people and pets throughout the firework season. Lots of constituents have written to Mary about the RSPCA’s #BeAKindSpark campaign.

The RSPCA suggests attending organised public events, rather than loud home displays, and sticking to the traditional dates to help eliminate surprises for pet owners.

Research from the RSPCA has shown that 66% of animals are negatively impacted by private firework displays, and 55% of pet and livestock owners dread fireworks season.

So #BeAKindSpark, and spread awareness of the RSPCA’s campaign.
