Mary at Labour Party Conference 2025

Mary Creagh MP met dozens of colleagues, business leaders and charities at the Annual Conference in Liverpool.

Mary spent four busy days in Liverpool for Labour’s Annual Conference. She spoke on five panels relating to her portfolio as Minister for Nature. These included a FareShare & New Statesman event on ending food waste, panels for Labour’s environmental group SERA, on the Circular Economy and discussing how to increase investment in nature finance hosted by the Labour Climate and Environment Forum.

Mary also chaired two roundtables at Labour’s Business Summit, and had several meetings with senior leaders from housing, energy, education and manufacturing with specific focus on how they could bring investment, opportunities, jobs and improvements in housing to Coventry East.

She visited many of the stands in the exhibition area, several at the request of constituents who was keen for her to find about more about the charities, causes and organisations that they care about.

Mary was in the Conference hall to hear Keir Starmer’s leader’s speech setting out Labour's vision for national renewal based on security, respect and opportunity.

She welcomed Chancellor Rachel Reeves announcements to ensure that every state primary school has a library by the end of this Parliament in her speech.

After austerity, Brexit and Liz Truss’s Budget, the British people deserve better public services after more than a decade of stagnation. She left inspired by the energy, ideas and determination of the hundreds of people she met in those very busy few days.
