The Labour government is capping single bus journeys across the UK at £2 from January 2027. This is alongside freezing rail fares for the first time in thirty years, and making bus fares free this August for under-15s as part of the Great British Summer Saving scheme. The last time there was a bus fare cap, journeys increased nationally by 30 million per year.
