Mary elected to Labour's Shadow Cabinet
Mary Creagh MP has been elected to Labour's Shadow Cabinet team. Labour leader Ed Miliband asked the Wakefield MP, who polled 119 votes in a secret ballot of Labour MPs on Thursday night, to be Shadow Secretary for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Mary said she is delighted to have been elected and is looking forward to the challenge of the Environment post. She spent the day in Wakefield, visiting Wakefield College and Pinderfields Hospital Spinal Injury Unit, before meeting constituents at her surgery.
