Wakefield MP Mary Creagh has nominated a city centre café for a prestigious parliamentary award. Bon Bouche, which is in Wakefield city centre, has been put up by the MP for the Parliamentary Small Shop of the Year award for 2010.
The nominations closed this week and the shortlisting, which is being carried out by parliamentarians and business leaders, will be complete by the end of February. The finalists will be announced in early March.
Bon Bouche was created and is run by Newmillerdam residents Pamela Holmes and Jo Sykes. The café has been open since 2001 and is already an award winning establishment. See what’s on offer at http://www.bonbouche.co.uk
Bon Bouche owners Pamela and Jo said: "At Bon Bouche we think of ourselves as a family caring for each other and our customers. This award is especially welcome as we are celebrating our 10th year in business"
Mary said “Pamela and Jo have not just invested in Bon Bouche financially, but with their heart and soul. I’m delighted to nominate them for this award and I hope they get their reward and make the final shortlisting. Bon Bouche has a great Yorkshire menu. I’m lucky it is so close to my office so I can eat my lunch there!”
