Mary calls into Drury Lane library for Summer Reading Challenge

Wakefield MP Mary Creagh called in to the city's Drury Lane library on Tuesday 2nd August to show her support for this year's Summer Reading Challenge. She donated a book and chatted to young volunteers at the library's first drop-in chat session of the summer.

The sessions give young people the chance to share stories on the books they have read.

Mary said "It was a pleasure to present the summer reading challenge book to Drury Lane library and meet Tiffany, Haleemha, Danielle and Jasmine, their reading volunteers. We had a great chat about the books they liked. I was so impressed by their commitment to reading that it has inspired me to rethink my own reading and to aim a bit higher in the holidays!"
