National Park cuts are "another attack on the countryside"
Mary Creagh has branded the government's 28% cuts to National Parks "another attack on the countryside". National Park Authorities could be forced to close visitor centres, restrict public access and increase parking charges to pay for redundancies as a result of Defra's spending cuts.
Mary said "After the forests debacle the Tory-led Government are imposing a 28 per cent cut on the national parks in yet another attack on the countryside. This is bad news for families and walkers."
National Park bosses have also been critical of the government cuts, saying that the parks will suffer lasting damage. www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/country-view/environment/dales_park_in_danger_of_lasting_damage_from_cuts_1_3101078
