Mary visits Second Chance Headway
Mary Creagh picked up some top tips for the kitchen on 18 February when she visited Wakefield charity Second Chance Headway's new base on Almhouse Lane.
The new centre allows the charity, which works with people who have suffered brain injuries, expand their service in helping people relearn the basic skills they need for everyday life.
Mary said "It's wonderful to see the charity thriving in its new home. I have tried to support Second Chance since I was elected and the new site is quite a change from the old portable building at Pinderfields. Now it has stability for the next 3 years. It was great to meet the users, especially Peter in the kitchen, and I was also thrashed in a game of pool."
Second Chance have a number of fundraising events coming up, including a fashion show and a wedding fair.
