Government cuts flood defence spending
At Prime Ministers Questions on Wednesday 17 November David Cameron stated that the government were spending £2.1 billion on flood protection and that this was the same as Labour had spent over the last 4 years. In fact Labour spent £2.36 billion over the last 4 years and the Environment Secretary has admitted it is a cut even before you take into account the effects of 4% inflation each year.
