Mary presents Horbury Bridge petition to the Council

- Mary and Brian Holmes present the petition to Council leader Peter Box
Mary Creagh has stepped up her campaign for a permanent pedestrian crossing on the A642 junction with Netherton Lane. She joined Horbury and South Ossett council candidate Brian Holmes to present a petition calling for a crossing to council leader Peter Box. The petition has over 150 signatures.
Mary and local residents are concerned about the safety of the children and adults who need to cross the busy road. They organised the petition which calls on the Council to install a permanent pedestrian crossing at the traffic lights on the A642 T Junction with the B6117 Netherton Lane next to the Bingley Arms Public House.
Mary said "I share local residents concerns about the need for a crossing here. The road is already a lot safer following my campaign for more speed cameras but pedestrians, especially mums and their children, need to be able to cross in safety. I hope it won't be too long before we get the crossing."
